Padborg Super Prix: supremacy of the Honda Hexathron in Denmark
The fourth competitive round of the DTC which took place within the Padborg Super Prix in the weekend of the 8th and 9th August, showed a clear supremacy of the Hartmann Racing’s Hondas managed by HRS Motorsport both in the overall rankings, where the fast James Thompson took two wins and one second place in the three scheduled races, and in the Independents’ standings where Per Poulsen, although unlucky, collected valuable points for the rest of the season.
Since the qualifying sessions Thompson became the protagonist of "monster" performances, bringing his Hartmann Racing’s Honda to a peremptory pole position ahead of the official Chevrolet Lacetti driven by Michel Nykjaer and Henrik Lundgaard. This performance enabled the strong British driver to manage from a position of strength the whole Race 1 which finished successfully.
Race 2, affected by many contacts among the top drivers, has however shown Thompson as protagonist, capable of winning a strong second final place, prelude to the further achieved overall win in Race 3, clearly demonstrating that the package "Thompson - Hartmann Honda Racing - HRS Motorsport " was the fastest of the circuit during the race weekend.
Thanks to four victories since the start of the DTC, James Thompson has thus consolidated his leading position in the overall standings with a provisional score of 202 points, followed by Nykjaer with 185 and Lundgaard with 170, while Poulsen occupies the 6th place overall and the second among the "Independents".
Very close is also the fight among the Teams, where the Hartmann Racing Honda Team lines up only one car against the two of the official Chevrolet Motorsport Denmark Team which at the moments leads the ranking with 44 points.
The next round of the DTC is scheduled on the 21st to the 23rd August at the Jyllandsringen circuit, on the occasion of the “FDM's 100 years Jubilaeum GP Denmark ", where Thompson and the Hartmann and HRS’ Motorsport Honda will start with an advantage.
