James Thompson leads the Danish Championship

The sixth round of the Danish Touring Car Championship (DTC), occurred from the 21st to 23rd August in the circuit of Jyllandsringen, has been an especially demanding stage for James Thompson and his Honda Hartmann managed by HRS Motorsport. The double wins and the second place obtained in the previous Race required (as set by the regulations) an increase in weight of even 110 kg on his car, which obviously affected the car’s performances throughout the whole weekend.

Thompson and the team, however, managed to carry out some great qualifying sessions, yielding a valuable second place on the grid behind the Seat but ahead of the official BMW and Chevrolet.

Under the watchful eye of Mattias Andersson, the fast HRS Motorsport’s driver engaged with the Alfa 156 GTA in the Swedish Championship and visiting the Team Hartmann in this occasion, the British champion achieved the 5th place in Race 1, finishing 4th both in Race 2 and Race 3: a masterpiece of competitive strategy that allowed him to score significant and useful points to stay at the top in the Championship.

Sure enough in the overall results, since two round and six races from the end, Thompson is still the leader of the series with Michel Nikyaer at the 2nd place leaved behind of 12 points and Henrik Lundgaard at the 3rd place with a gap of 34 points by the British driver.
Even more behind, at the 4th and 5th positions, finished the very strong Jason Watt and Jan Magnussen (winner of two among the three races of the weekend) that pay for the missteps done in the previous races.

Also the outcome of the Independent driver Poulsen has been really positive: the Hartmann Honda Team's second driver with his second place in Race 2 follows in the wake of the leader Jens Moeller in the "independent" standings with the great chance of a final success considering the only 21 points could be recovered in the next six races.

About the Teams’ rankings the second place of the Hartmann Honda Racing becomes even more consolidated among the eleven subscribed partnerships: the team follows the official Chevrolet Motorsport Denmark Team by 59 lengths.

The next round of the DTC, named "Sensommerlob ', will take place on the 12th and 13th September in the new Ring Djursland .
