Mattias Andersson: Fifth final place in the STCC with the Alfa 156 GTA supported by Hexathron

Mattias Andersson concluded in the best way the 2009 edition of the Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC): thanks to his 2nd place in the last race on the calendar at the Mantorp Park circuit, the strong Swedish driver finished 5th overall among the 24 drivers entered the lists in the final results.

Besides the satisfaction for having played a championship at the top level scoring 56 points, Andersson thanks to the technical support provided by Hexathron Racing Systems Motorsport can record by far his best result in the Swedish series, after having hit the 10th place in 2007 with 19 points and the 11th one in 2008 with 17 points.

The Alfa 156 GTA that HRS Motorsport continued to develop throughout the whole season, has thus demonstrated to be still very competitive compared with definitely more recent cars like the Volvo C30 and the BMW 320 Si, cars Andersson fought against on equal terms throughout the whole season, allowing itself to overtake in the final results the Honda Accord Euro R, the Peugeot 308, the Seat Leon, the Chevrolet Lacetti and the Audi A4.

On the basis of the results achieved and because of its excellent level of competitiveness the Team MA.GP by Mattias Andersson has already announced its intention to continue the relationship with Hexathron Racing Systems for the 2010 competitive season.
