In Japan a fast and unlucky Lada Priora.

The penultimate round of the WTCC, held on the difficult circuit of Okayama, characterized by low grip asphalt that tends to be more suitable for cars with a rear-wheel drive, marked another moment of growth for the official Lada Priora under the race management of Hexathron Racing Systems.
During the qualifying session James Thompson, first driver of Lada Sport, went up to 13th position with a gap of just two tenths of second from the Top Ten. In both Races, characterized by prohibitive weather conditions with a hard rain, this level of competitiveness was confirmed by the Dutch Jaap Van Lagen, who crossed the finish line of Race 1 in 12th position, preceded by Thompson
, 11th .After a great start in Race 2, in the middle of the Race, both Lada drivers, for the first time since the beginning of the participation of the Russian Manifacturer in WTCC, were among the top eight that means the range useful to achieve points in the standings, but in few minutes both cars were unexpectedly forced to retire: the windscreen of the Priora of Thompson was hit by a stone that broke the demisting thermal resistance, forcing the British driver to stop for lack of a sufficient visual. Van Lagen too was forced to a premature and definitive return to the pits because his engine suffered problems of efficiency .
Within this performance, highly appreciated by the concerning experts, the technical staff of HRS Motorsport could however get useful information to develop and face up in the best way the final round of the 2009 WTCC, scheduled for the 19th and 22nd November on the street circuit of Macau , absolutely the most fascinating among the WTCC ones and performing the fastest corner of the championship (Mandarin Bend > 200 kph) and the slowest one (Melco Hairpin , 35 kph)
