Mattias Andersson and MA:GP shined in the Swedish Touring Car Championship with the Alfa 156 GTA S2000 managed by HRS Motorsport.

The third round of the Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC), revealed the clear trend of improvement that Mattias Andersson and his Alfa 156 GTA MA:GP managed by HRS Motorsport are living.

Following the successful seasonal debut in Mantorp Park and the unlucky race in Karlskoga, Andersson was expected to express its great potential, mostly because of the developments that HRS Motorsport gave to the much-decorated "Alfetta" during the weeks preceding the event.

Mattias Andersson certainly didn’t disappoint: his peremptory 2nd time in the qualifying sessions, preceding more recent cars, reflects the fact that, even if dated, the Alfa 156 has certainly no secrets for HRS Motorsport, considering the amount of wins and top standings in the ETCC and WTCC achieved by the same men in the glorious period in which the Italian saloon car ran in an official capacity wearing the colour of NTechnology.

Competing the expectations created by the young and fast Swedish driver didn’t disappoint: the 3rd place in Race 1 and the 5th in Race 2 allowed the MA:GP to win the Teams list and Andersson to gain an important 9th place overall in the championship.

An important result, part of the unceasing work of development led by HRS Motorsport, which allows to look at the next race in Ring Knustorp, on the 26th and 27th June, with the legitimate ambition to scale up to the peaks of the STCC.
