STCC: a great and unlucky Mattias Andersson in Falkenberg.

In the fifth round of the Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC), the talent and the bad luck crossed the path of Mattias Andersson and his ex-works Alfa 156 GTA managed by HRS Motorsport.

Unfortunately the excellent qualifying sessions, in which the driver who wears the colour of MA: GP scored respectively the 8th and the 6th time overall (after having reaching the 5th place in the free practices), were not confirmed by the results in Race 1.

In the first racing round at the Falkenberg circuit, a new driveshaft (just replaced according to the provided technical procedures) suddenly and inexplicably collapsed most likely because of a defect in the material of construction.

In Race 2 Mattias Andersson had thus to start from the 24th place. This situation didn’t discourage him from producing a performance of considerable relief, which saw him to recover in the overall standings overtaking by overtaking up to the final 7th place.

Certainly an unlucky weekend but also the proof of the level of competitiveness achieved and maintained by the 156 such as of the rising feeling that the Swedish driver managed by HRS Motorsport doesn’t stop to constantly demonstrate through the Italian saloon car.

The Team and the car are now called to an umpteenth and great performance at the Karlskoga circuit in the next weekend of the 14th and 15th August, for the sixth round of the STCC season.
