Not only professional-level motorsport for Hexathron Racing Systems: this year, the italian engineering company supports the Dynamis PRC team from Politecnico di Milano, that deployed the new DP9 race car in Varano de’ Melegari last weekend. The event – sponsored by Dallara, FCA and Abarth – has attracted over 2,600 students from 23 countries for a total of 70 universities involved in 80 teams of future automotive/motorsport engineers. The car designed by Dynamis PRC shown great performance, conquering the second place overall in 1C Class (reserved to internal combustion engine prototypes) and the best placement among the italian universities.
Different tests have involved cars and teams, starting from the company’s business plan and car design with cost analysis, followed by on-track activities with acceleration, skid-pad, autocross and endurance (the latest won indeed by Dynamis PRC).
Hexathron Racing Systems, with engineers Maurizio Soro and Marco De Luciano, supports the Dynamis PRC team for development and data analysis of its DP9: the single-seater race car built by Politecnico di Milano’s students is characterized by carbon fiber chassis and Aprilia RXV 550 engine, together a specific aerodynamic kit; about the suspensions, they are with pull-rod system both on front and rear, while the overall weight of the car is less than 200 kg thanks to the intensive use of composite materials.
Marco Calovolo (Hexathron Racing Systems CEO): “We are happy to support the Politecnico di Milano’s team in 2017 Formula SAE, a top-level training environment from which engineers are now marching into the most important automotive series in the world. The DP9 is a car that has already shown great potential, and we are delighted to provide a multi-years experience in motorsport to Dynamis PRC guys, in order to improve the overall performance. The team has proved to be so valid, already very competent on different aspects of the car, both in terms of mechanics and aerodynamics, and our target – in addition to improving DP9 perfomances – is to propose a solid work method that can be formative thinking about a future commitment into motorsport or automotivve world.“
