The close collaboration between Hexathron Racing Systems and Stefano d’Aste continues for another program: after the successes in the FIA WTCC 2012 with BMW and Team Wiechers, the excellent results during the year after with PB Racing, the born of new Lotus Cup Italy series and, last november, the podium conquered in Monza Rally Show, the strong driver from Genova decided to have support of the engineering company directed by Eng. Marco Calovolo also in FIA WTCC. D’Aste will be part of the World Touring Car Championship with one Chevrolet Cruze RML TC1 (All-Inkl.com Munnich Motorsport) which will technically directed by Eng. Jacopo Fedele, who will be flanked by Enio Bolsieri, Technical Director of PB Racing.
Marco Calovolo (CEO Hexathron Racing Systems): “I am very glad to see Stefano again in WTCC and the Chevrolet Cruze is a very good cr to fight for the top. Our collaboration, both as a driver and as President of PB Racing and organizer of the Lotus Cup, continues since several years and we are proud that Stefano has chosen Hexathron also for its commitment in WTCC this year, which will be followed by Eng. Jacopo Fedele, already on his side in 2013 with the BMW 320 TC.”
Jacopo Fedele (Hexathron Racing Systems): “After the great experience with Stefano in 2013, it is good to return in WTCC to work with him. The first races will be for sure the hardest because we need time to discover the Chevrolet and for him to adapt his driving style to a front-wheel drive car with so much power; I’m sure this will not be a big problem, as we saw Stefano can adapt quickly to complex cars as happened in Monza Rally Show with the Citroen DS3 WRC. We will be outsiders for the top positions!”
The FIA World Touring Car Championship will start this weekend from Argentina (Termas de Rio Hondo) for the first of the twelve rounds scheduled for this year, with free practice and qualifying on Saturday; on Sunday Race 1 will start at 15:15 local time (20:15 CET) followed by Race 2 one hour later, both broadcasted on Eurosport.
