The Lotus Cup Italy series has a new leader after the third round in Magione. Both races have seen an impressive performance by Mauro Guastamacchia: after his debut in Monza (third place in Race 1), the driver from Pavia won twice in Magione with the car managed by Faber Racing; in the official practice was Luca Lorenzini (Essecorse) to set the best lap time but he was not able to take part in the races due to a overnight malaise; his team-mate Marco Fiore lost some positions during the races and he wasn’t able to fight for the podium. Pablo Biolghini (Race Event) and Luli Del Castello (Cipriani Motorsport) completed the Top 3 in Race 1 while Stefano Caprotti (Siliprandi Racing) and again Luli Del Castello were second and third in Race 2. About the Ladies Cup, Luli Del Castello confirmed her impressive skills during the whole weekend and she was really close to conquer the first overall win; thanks to her win in Monza, Sharon Scolari is still leading the Ladies Cup for 10 points. Despite the really hot weather, the Lotus Elise Cup PB-R racing cars hadn’t any problem during the weekend confirming its great reliability; in Magione, PB Racing and Hexathron Racing Systems announced a new upgrade for the car: from the next race, a new set of springs will be available in the parts catalogue. On sunday, Rupert Manwaring (Head of Lotus Racing) was in Magione and he remained really impressed by the work done in the last months sharing his positive feedbacks with Stefano d’Aste and Marco Calovolo; the Lotus Cup Italy drivers were very excited to talk with Mr.Manwaring and to receive the prizes on the podium from his hands. The next Lotus Cup Italy round will take place in the amazing tuscany circuit of Mugello on 5-7 September.
